What is the difference between thermal and standard shutters?
The slat. In a thermal shutter the slats are filled with insulating foam rather than left hollow, which improves how they handle heat and cold and also cuts some noise transmission.
Is motorising worth it?
It depends on how many openings you have and who uses them. On hard-to-reach windows, in properties with many shutters, or in rentals where scheduling matters, electric operation clearly pays off. On a single easily reached window, the gain is mostly convenience.
Can they be fitted without an existing shutter box?
Yes. Where there is no box built into the wall, surface-mounted box systems are fitted on the outside face of the opening. It is a common solution in replacements and in buildings never designed for shutters.
Does a security shutter replace a grille?
